My SIP
I propose a prototype for a mecha themed 2D fighting game with battle damage mechanics that affect gameplay. This is innovative because it gives a dynamic gameplay loop that changes moves based on damage and forces the player to find different ways to fight. ​
Innovation Claim
Fighting games feature characters from martial arts, anime, superheroes, or popular franchises. Mecha is a popular genre that has yet to be featured in fighting games. It offers unique opportunities for gameplay and a theme that has yet to be utilized. In the game industry overall there is a lack of games focusing on robots and so it is a niche that is underutilized.

How its being made
For this project I've had a pipeline of starting in Photoshop with a rough sketch, then finishing and animating sprites in Aseprite. For the prototype I've been using Construct 3 and utilizing the event sheet system for the damage mechanic. Currently the damage system is partially functional and able to cycle through 2 damage states.


Target Audience
This game would be targeted towards fighting game, casual gamers, and mecha genre enthusiasts. ​
Gen A, Gen Z, Millenials.
